Search for a Regional Director, People & Culture – West Africa

Mission Talent Recruitment has been tasked by World Vision with providing an exclusive search for the position of Regional Director, People & Culture – West Africa

Purpose of Position:

This is an important time in the development of World Vision International in Africa. World Vision is very keen to find a strong and pioneering Regional Director, People & Culture for West Africa. This position is directly responsible for providing quality and efficient leadership, advisement and oversight in all aspects of People & Culture across the region while supporting the Regional Vice President (RVP) in developing leadership capacity in each country office. The Regional Director, People & Culture is responsible for general performance management, compensation & benefits, organizational development, and staffing & workforce planning for a diverse and interesting region.

This position is based in Dakar, Senegal.

Key Competencies:

To be specific, we are looking for a Regional Director, People & Culture – West Africa who has all or most of the following:

• An appropriate advanced degree
• Strong HR generalist experience (10 years +) with significant organizational development experience or related fields, in complex international organizations

• A proven record of working with senior executives, challenging their perspective as appropriate; and achieving buy in on key changes and/or initiatives

• Proven well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as negotiation and administrative abilities
• A strong team leader required with a proven record of developing people in a cross-cultural setting and initiating and implementing organizational change at a senior level
• A mature and committed Christian who can lead spiritual nurture activities
• Fluency in English and French essential
• The ability to travel regionally and internationally for up to 12 weeks per year
• Experience working with African labor laws and regulations preferred
• Experience within large and complex NGOs or nonprofits preferred.
