About WaterAid

WaterAid is an international development non-governmental organisation whose vision is of a world where everyone has access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene. WA has been working in Mozambique since 1995. From the beginning, WaterAid in Mozambique (WAM) focused exclusively on improving poor people’s access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation in selected rural districts and informal urban settlements in the country. The programme has also recently begun expanding into new small town areas with significant grant funding. Furthermore, there is an increased focus on sanitation, scaling up innovative water supply management and sanitation, moving to a programme based approach, and playing an increasing policy advocacy and influencing role in the sector.
